fiagrop-8Havana, Cuba.-Fiagrob 2017, the 20th International Agro-Industrial and Food-and-Agriculture Fair, that began on March 18 at Rancho Boyeros exhibition center is closing today with several rodeo events, such as parade, calf roping, bull tumbling and others.

In this edition, teams from Mexico, Panama and the host country are participating in these activities, which seek to rescue traditions in agricultural-and-livestock production and the cattle-breeding culture, according to the president of the Cuban Rodeo Association, Anadelio Gonzalez.

Fiagrop 2017, as in previous years, included a business marketplace, which was open from Monday through Saturday, with the presence of representatives of 63 companies and 170 exhibitors from 16 countries, including Cuba, who presented their equipment and machines for agro-production.

Twenty awards, mentions and recognitions were granted last night to product quality and in the free stand category among others.

Those awarded were the business groups Agroforestal, Tabacuba, Azcuba, Labiofam, the institutes for Research on Beekeeping and Grains, respectively, National Insurance, Citrico Caribe S. A. (Caribbean Citrus Ltd.) and other agencies.
