Syrian Army.

DAMASCUS, Syria. – The Syrian Army, backed by support forces, advanced this Monday in the north-west of the central province of Hama by defeating terrorist groups in the town of Shkatier.

The government units penetrated the lairs of the extremists from the Levant Front and killed dozens of these elements, while others fled to neighboring villages.

After the radicals were defeated in Shkatier, sapper brigades cleaned up explosive ordnance and mines in the place. On the other hand, in the city of Al-Bukamal these forces eliminated the last hotbeds of resistance of isolated elements from the self-styled Islamic State.

The units of the Syrian armed forces proceed to the demining of areas of that municipality, considered the last great bastion of Daesh in Syria.
