DAMASCUS, Syria.-The Syrian governorate of Damascus reported this Friday that hundreds of families displaced by the armed conflict returned to their homes in the village of Fletah, in the region of Qalamoun.

In this town, located to the north of Damascus and liberated from terrorists last August, basic services such as water and electricity were reestablished after the execution of demining work, as indicated by the government entity.

Extremists from organizations such as the Islamic State and the Levant Front were expelled thanks to the strong offensive deployed by the Syrian army and its allies in the western part of Qalamoun.

As government forces gained ground in their fight against terrorist groups in different territories of Syria, thousands of internally displaced persons or refugees abroad returned to their home communities in recent months.
