BEIJING, China. – The founder and CEO of Huawei Chinese telecommunications equipment company, Ren Zhengfei, stated his company begins production of 5G base stations, free of U.S. components, and they plan to double production next year, Reuter News Agency reports.

From next October, the company will produce 5,000 5G base stations per month, and to next year it plans to build about 1.5 million stations, Ren Zhengfei said.

However, Huawei CEO said they would like to use U.S. components if possible, as they has old emotional ties with U.S. suppliers.

Last week the Chinese telecom equipment company introduced the Mate 30 line of phones, which operate without Google’s services.
