Paris, France.-Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian is opening today the 85th edition of the European Fair in Strasbourg, held in that eastern France city with Cuba as a guest of honor.

According to a Foreign Ministry statement, the minister opened the event and also the pavilion dedicated to the Caribbean nation, which this time leads one of the main event of this kind in the country.

Le Drian will also attend a working meeting devoted to foreign trade, particularly the companies and the main institutional actors of export in eastern France.

The minister will reiterate his intention to promote French companies and products at international level, as well as simplify export mechanisms, the text said.

The statement recalled that the fairs and salons of this kind are an opportunity to favor exports and interaction between economic actors. The Strasbourg Fair is considered one of the main national events and it hosted last year about 1,000 exhibitors, including 130 foreigners, as well as 175,000 visitors.
