HAVANA, Cuba.- The President of the Councils of State and of Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez called this Thursday to defend the program of municipal self-sufficiency, develop short-cycle crops, promote urban agriculture, productive poles and increase exports,

During his speech at the joint meeting of Agri-Food and of Attention to Services Commissions, the President said it is necessary to change mentality and take advantage of the potential we have in agriculture.

Diaz-Canel highlighted that to analyze the Cuban economy it is necessary to take into account the intensification of the blockade, which has provoked shortage and lack of resources.

For this reason, he added, it is important to defend savings, to continue promoting productive linkages, national production, as well as foreign investment, tourism and exports.
