MEXICO CITY, Mexico.- Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador defended the nation’s ownership of natural resources and recalled that the Constitution endorses it.

In a reference for the 102nd anniversary of the proclamation of the Constitution in force in Mexico, Lopez Obrador recalled the Magna Carta recognizes the nation as the owner of all the riches found in the underground, which includes oil and other strategic minerals.

The President of Mexico said the fourth transformation begins now with important tasks, including defending the natural resources of the country, such as oil, whose production must be recovered, improving the situation of Pemex, the most important producer of the sector in Mexico.

Lopez Obrador also reiterated it is important to keep an eye on the Constitution and celebrate its anniversary, because that is a bridge between Mexicans.
