HAVANA, Cuba. – The fifth Congress of the Cuban Association of Agricultural and Forestry Technicians will be held next July 17 and 18 in Havana, with the purpose of promoting sustainable agricultural and forestry development on agro-ecological bases.

The meeting in the Ministry of Agriculture and the Central Palace of Pioneers will host about 300 delegates from all over the country, which discuss several fundamental aspects of these activities.

Taimi Milan, national executive secretary of the Cuban Association of Agricultural and Forestry Technicians explained the organizational process began last September through the grassroots assemblies, followed by the municipal and provincial ones.

Milan also reported that the Congress will pay homage to phytosanitary workers in their day, who face and prevent pests and diseases in different crops.
