CARACAS, Venezuela. – As a solidarity shield, the member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) reaffirmed their commitment to defend Venezuela, before the interventionist plans of the United States and its allies.

At the recent sixth Extraordinary Meeting of ALBA Political Council, participants from several Latin American and Caribbean nations reaffirmed their support and solidarity with the Venezuelan Government and people, and assessed the current regional situation.

This time it was the turn of Venezuela to receive the support of friendly countries, when it is besieged by the international extreme right and reactionary groups intending to summon a foreign intervention in the internal affairs of the South American nation.

The voices of Cuba, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Haiti and Bolivia, among others, joined forces to reject the unilateral actions of the United States against Venezuela.
