Havana, Cuba.- The company Acosta Danza, directed by the first Cuban dancer Carlos Acosta, announced Wednesday its next performance, Season 12, scheduled for August 2, 3 and 4 in the Avellaneda Hall of the National Theater of Cuba.

The special moment of the season will be the world premiere of Llamada (‘Call’), choreography by Goyo Montero, in which the artist presents a series of questions about the sexuality and personal freedom of each human being.

Imponderable by Spanish artist Goyo Montero, which uses the poetic and musical work of Cuban troubadour Silvio Rodriguez, and the choreography Twelve, which mixes sport, dance and mathematics complete the program.

Acosta Danza has the objective of performing dance shows in full agreement with the most current notions that are developed in the world, not only in the matter of the movement of bodies but in everything related to the scene.

The company defines itself as a space of renewal, research and experimentation for Cuban artists, and also offers opportunities for the world’s creators, choreographers, musicians, and designers, plastic and audiovisual artists.

Its choreographic repertoire includes titles by prestigious creators such as Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Justin Peck, Marianela Boán, Goyo Montero, Saburo Teshigawara, Pontus Lidberg, Christopher Bruce, Rafael Bonachela, María Rovira, Jorge Crecis and the same Acosta.
