HAVANA, Cuba.- The Vice-President of the National Assembly of the People’s Power and the Council of State, Ana Maria Mari Machado, and the First Vice-President of the National Assembly of Burkina Faso, Benewende Stanislav Sankara, agreed on the importance of strengthening relations between the two regulatory bodies.

When welcoming the distinguished visitor to the Capitol of Havana, Mari Machado explained the intense work the Cuban Parliament is carrying out to continue as set out in the new Constitution.

The Vice-President of the National Assembly of the People’s Power also referred to the upsurge in the blockade, with consequent damage to Cuban families and the economy, and thanked Burkina Faso’s customary vote against the Washington siege.

The First Vice-President of the National Assembly of Burkina Faso, called the Cuban people heroic, and highlighted the 34 years of diplomatic relations between the two states.
