holguin turismoHavana, Cuba.-The 37th International Tourism Fair (FitCuba 2017) will be held in the province of Holguin with Germany as the guest of honor, according to the Tourism Minister, Manuel Marrero.

The event, which will be held from May 3rd to 6th, will be focused on guided tours, Marrero emphasized on the official website of the ministry on Facebook.

At the end of the first half of 2016, Germany was placed fourth on the list of leading visitors to the Greater Antilles. Over 125 thousand travelers, a rise of 44.8 percent compared to 2015, visited the region from Germany in this period according to data from the National Office of Statistics and Information.

FitCuba is the most important event of the leisure industry on the island and is attended by entrepreneurs, tour operators and travel agents.

Cuba was visited by 4 million international visitors last year, a record for the country.
