Havana Cuba. – Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, Second Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, imposed the honorary title of Hero of Labor of the Republic of Cuba to thirteen workers with outstanding contributions to the country.

Another 47 affiliates to different unions received Lazaro Pena Order in first, second and third degrees, as well as the Jesus Menendez Medal, awarded by the State Council.

These recognitions were delivered by Salvador Valdes Mesa, First Vice President of the Council of State and Ministers, and Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, Secretary General of the Workers’ Central Union of Cuba (CTC).

As part of May 1st´s activities, Felipe Herrera Agricultural Cooperative Production Unit, of Artemisa, received the Lazaro Pena Second Degree Order and two other workplaces the Jesus Menendez Medal.
