CARACAS, Venezuela.- The President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, highlighted the celebration of National Independence Day, which was clamped in the civic-military union from the beginning of the Bolivarian Revolution, led by Commander Hugo Chavez.

Maduro reaffirmed that the Venezuelan people maintain their sovereign status in defense of the systematic attacks of the American Empire, as well as ratified the State’s commitment to defeat the interventionist maneuvers against the country.

The Bolivarian National Armed Forces joined the celebration, in which they reaffirmed Venezuela’s sovereign status amidst the interventionist maneuvers and attacks promoted by the US Government.

The Venezuelan President thanked the signs of respect and solidarity issued by several leaders from Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe in coincidence with the commemoration of the historic event.
