Nicaragua Commemorates Cuban Victory in Playa Giron

MANAGUA, Nicaragua. – Nicaragua commemorates today the 57th anniversary of the victory of the Cuban Revolution in Playa Giron, a feat that slowed in less than 72 hours an invasion of the island organized by the United States.

The central day to evoke this historical fact took place in the city of Len, of the homonym department, where local authorities and members of the State mission of the island placed a floral offering before the monument to the Cuban national hero, Jose Marti.

It will also deliver paintings on Marti, accompanied by artistic presentations from Nicaragua and Cuba, and a conversation will be held on the mercenary invasion and heroic feat of the Cuban people.

As part of the activities to remember the Cuban feat, the Republic of Cuba College in Managua recalled that fact through drawings and songs by the students.
