MAPUTO, Mozambique.- The death count as a result of Hurricane Idai reached 468 in central and southern Mozambique, according to information shared by the Minister of State Administration and Public Service, Carmelita Namashulua.

Updated data realize that 1522 people were injured and 800,000 were affected, especially in the city of Beira, which was destroyed.

Namashulua explained that life tends to normalize with the reduction of rivers level and the restoration of traffic on Number 6 National Highway.

Meanwhile, health authorities confirmed the existence of a cholera outbreak in Beira, which has five cases so far affected by the consumption of contaminated water. On Saturday a million vaccines against the deadly disease should arrive in the city.
