LA PAZ, Bolivia.- The Bolivian Minister of Communication, Gisela Lopez, condemned the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba for more than half a century.

More than half a century of punishing a people because, autonomously, it decided to follow another ideological course, it is not fair, the Minister wrote and added that the United States, the owner of the world, remains hostile with Cuba and demanded the end of that policy.

The Caribbean island considers blockade as a massive, flagrant and systematic violation of the human rights of a whole people; as well as an act of genocide, in accordance with the Convention for the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.

It is also a violation of the Charter of the UN and international law, and an obstacle to cooperation. On October 31, the United Nations´ General Assembly will vote for a draft resolution to claim the cessation of the blockade.
