Democrats Reject New Restrictions on Cuba

WASHINGTON, USA.- Democratic senators opposed to the policy propelled against Cuba by the Trump Administration, sent a letter to the executive to reject the new restrictions imposed on flights to the island.

In the missive, members of the Senate warned that the decision to suspend commercial air travel to nine international airports on the island is another step backwards for both nations.

According to members of the upper house, the Trump Administration’s approach to Cuba harms U.S. businesses, farmers, and citizens, while achieving no U.S. national security or foreign policy objective.

This determination will hurt Cuban-American families, and stifle business opportunities and contacts between peoples, the signatories, including Democratic presidential candidates Amy Klobuchar and Elizabeth Warren, said.
