Cuba and Africa: Strong Bonds of Brotherhood
The President of the Pan-African Parliament, Roger Nkodo Dang, gave a keynote speech on the work of that African Union body and its main challenges.
Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Relations, received in Havana Lesego Makgothi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations of the Kingdom of Lesotho, who pays an official visit to the island.
The President of the African Union, Moussa Faki Mahamat, reaffirmed in the United Nations (UN) the commitment of his continent with the defense of the ideals of peace and tolerance promoted by Nelson Mandela.
On May 25, 1963, the Organization of African Unity was founded in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to promote the common cause against colonialism. In 2002 it was replaced by the African Union, a promoter of regional institutions and cooperation programs with the aim of promoting peace and sustainable development.
The African Union convened this Thursday to the second phase of 2018 Research Grant, a program urging to carry out studies on food, nutritional security and sustainable agriculture in the continent.
The African Union conditioned the flourishing of relations with the United States on a basis of respect, according to the President of the Commission of the continental body, Moussa Faki Mahamat.
