GENEVA, Switzerland.- The First Vice-President of Cuba, Salvador Valdes Mesa, met this Wednesday in this city with the Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO), Guy Ryder, at the annual conference of that United Nations agency.

Prior to this bilateral meeting, Valdes Mesa attended an official lunch offered by Ryder to participants in the meeting of the International Labour Conference at the United Nations headquarters.

In addition to speaking in the high-level segment of the Conference, the Cuban First Vice-President signed the ILO Golden Book

In its second century of life, the International Labour Organization will continue to count on the commitment and support of Cuba, a founding member, in its efforts for social justice, the promotion of decent employment and the protection of workers’ rights, Valdes Mesa wrote.
