Moscow, Russia.-Russia and Cuba strengthened today the scientific and technological cooperation with the signing here of an agreement between the Skolkovo innovation fund and Biocubafarma State Corporation.

The Vice president of Skolkovo, Kiril Kaem; and the deputy Vice president of Biocubafarma, Educardo Martinez, signed the covenant during the 33 World Conference of the International Association of Technological and Innovations Parks.

After the ceremony at the Congress Hall of the World Trade Center in the capital, Martinez told Prensa Latina that the agreement was the fruit of a two years of negotiations work with Skolkovo.

The two parties intention is to strengthen cooperation in the field of biotechnology, noted the specialist.

It is well-known that Cuba has developed 30 years of work in biotechnology with concrete results translated into products and technology used today in 50 countries, throughout the world, stressed Martinez.

This is a long-term agreement that pave the way for a future development of a number of projects in different fields such as the one of cardiovascular disorders, neuro-degenerative and cancer, such as the agricultural biotechnology, he explained.

The idea is to work with companies in order to achieve the introduction and development of those products in the Russian market and in the rest of the region, he added.

Negotiations are already set in motion between Biocubafarma company and those associated to the Skolkovo fund for development of joint projects, he went into details.
