GRANMA, Cuba. – Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdes Menendez toured several works in progress at Granma province, as well as a production center of construction materials, and checked the march of housing programs.

In Bayamo, the Cuban Vice President visited the site where they built a tank with a capacity of 5000 cubic meters of water, to supply more than 100,000 consumers.

The work is part of the city’s aqueduct rehabilitation project, financed with a credit granted to the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

In Bayamo Valdes Menendez also observed the construction of a photovoltaic park, which once completed and in operation will provide 4.4 megawatts.

They Prioritize Housing Construction Program

The also Hero of the Republic of Cuba also visited the experimental polygon, in Granma neighborhood, in which 39 houses and buildings to provide services were built using different techniques and materials.

His stay in the territory concluded with a meeting in which he checked the progress of the housing construction programs in the provinces of Granma and Holguin.

These programs, Valdes Menendez said, will receive the necessary support from the country’s leadership, in terms of materials such as cement and steel; the others are in the territories, which must create the capacities required to process them.

Next March, the housing construction program of each municipality must be developed, to improve the living conditions of many families.
