WASHINGTON, the United States. – Students from many U.S. cities will make stops to demand changes to the country’s laws on gun control, in the first month of the mass shooting in a high school in Parkland, Florida.
Students from more than 3100 schools and universities signed up to participate in this Wednesday’s initiative, when they will leave classrooms for 17 minutes to show solidarity for the mortal victims of the massacre.
The organizers of the event, convened by a youth branch of the Women’s March, asked for the participation of students from all schools, and also called parents and teachers.
Although the action has a national scope, student groups and schools are expected to perform other events such as assemblies, class discussions and memorial services at the local level.
