After receiving green light from the World Trade Organization, from now the United States applies tariffs on European Union products valued at $7.5 billion a year.

The list of goods hit by the rates includes wines from France, cheeses from all over Europe, olive oil, coffee, biscuits, butter, and pork meat.

The application of these tariffs is in correspondence with Trump’s controversial tariff policy, who has used taxes to deal with trade disputes, despite receiving criticism from economists and entrepreneurs who consider them harmful.

The community bloc warned Washington that it could take similar action against it, adding more pressure on the American business sectors, which have been hit by Trump’s trade war with China.
