Syrian-Iraqi border.

DAMASCUS, Syria. – In a large and surprising operation, Syrian army units and allied militias met the Hashed Shabi Iraqi people’s force, on the Syrian-Iraqi border in the northeast of the town of Tanef.

Sources pointed out this operation occurs one day after the third attack by the United States-led coalition against Syrian posts on the Tanef Road, in a region further south, and close to the border boundary with Jordan.

Terrorist groups from the so-called Free Army, backed by U.S. and British military, occupied the area where the Syrian army and its allies advanced through.

The operation was carried out in coordination with the troops of the Hashed Shabi Iraqi militia, whose members received Syrian forces on the border between the two countries.
