CARACAS, Venezuela. – President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro congratulated the members of the Military Academy of the Bolivarian Navy on the 208 anniversary of the creation of the first Naval School in the country.

In his message, the President emphasized the work of that institution in the training of Venezuelan Navy officers and its role in defending national sovereignty and integrity.

In turn, Minister of Defense Vladimir Padrino highlighted the work of the institution for more than two centuries, during which it forged successive generations of seafarers always having as lighthouses, God and fatherland, even in the most difficult storms.

The Institute of high studies, formerly known as Venezuelan Naval School, has a wide trajectory in the country and internationally, and it is considered the oldest of its kind for the training of naval officers in the American continent.
