Migrants are heading for Chiapas.

OAXACA, Mexico.- The number of requests for refuge from Central Americans who are headed in a caravan to the United States grew, reaching 2934 cases.

It also increased the number of migrants asking for assisted return to their countries, because according to government calculation, it is estimated that the Central Americans who transit the Mexican territory in this exodus are approximately 4000.

Currently, migrants are in Matias Romero municipality, in the state of Oaxaca, and the march is accompanied by state civil protection authorities, the Federal Police and the National Human Rights Commission.

This report adds that 1553 people who remain in a hostel at Tapachula Fairgrounds, in Chiapas, are in the process of receiving their Unique Key of Temporary Population Registration for Foreigners.
