Lula calls Brazilians to try to stop fascism.

CURITIBA, Brazil. – In order to preserve democracy in Brazil, threatened by right-wing candidate Jair Bolsonaro, former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva asked this Wednesday to vote for Fernando Haddad, representative of the Workers’ Party.

In an open letter from prison, Lula underlined that above all is the future of the country and its people, and insisted on the need for democratic forces to unite and prevent the advancement of fascism, as it has happened throughout history elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Brazil de Fato weekly reported that policemen of Joao Pessoa, capital of the northeastern state of Paraiba, created a group opposed to the threat to democracy that hangs over the country and the fear spread by Bolsonaro.

The right-wing candidate attends the second round of the presidential election of next Sunday with an advantage of 14 points on Haddad, representative of the Happy People Again Coalition.
