WASHINGTON, USA – Several countries and the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Luis Almagro, insist on meddling in the internal affairs of Venezuela, Carmen Velazquez denounced this Tuesday in the United States.

Velazquez, representative of the South American nation to the UN commented during a meeting with journalists in Washington that the intention is not to help his country but to press it, to impose it the steps to follow.

In her view, part of the OAS and Almagro try to have a main role in Venezuela´s situation from interference, which disrespects the rights to non-interference that each State must fulfil.

Velazquez considered that the unmeasured acting of Almagro is one of the reasons for the failure of consultation meetings and attempts to achieve consensus within the OAS against Venezuela.
