Peace in Colombia.

The Alternative Democratic Polo Party calls the various congressional caucuses to support the peace process.

BOGOTA, Colombia. – Congressmen of the Alternative Democratic Polo Party today expressed concern about the march of deadlines for the regulation and implementation of the peace agreements between guerrillas and the Colombian Executive.

Senator Ivan Cepeda and House representative Alirio Uribe announced they will convene a public hearing in the coming days to study matters related to the amnesty law, the reinstatement process of the insurgency, and the pending laws.

The Alternative Democratic Polo Party calls on the various congressional caucuses to support the peace process and to legislate effectively, in order to complete successfully the task of normative development of the peace process and the final agreement.

Cepeda and Uribe emphasize the need to avoid a fragmented implementation of the agreements, mainly in the case of the integral rural reform in Colombia.
