LA PAZ. Bolivia.- In assuming as Bolivian Vice-Minister of Fight against Smuggling, active reserve Colonel Gonzalo Rodriguez said he will strengthen the confrontation of this illicit act that bleeds Bolivia´s economy.
The act of swearing in the Palace of Government was presided over by Bolivian President Evo Morales, who denounced that the State loses 350 million dollars due to smuggling, which is practiced especially on the border with Chile, so he urged Rodriguez to strive to combat that scourge.
Morales announced that the armed forces will build barracks at the borders, especially at the Chilean one, as 70 percent of smuggling enters through that area.
The Bolivian President said that the fight against smuggling helps economic growth, as this activity is detrimental to the economy of that country.
