Members of the immigrant caravan will meet with Lopez Obrador.
MEXICO CITY, Mexico.- Representatives of the first caravan of Central American migrants, located in Mexico City, will meet this Thursday with President-elect Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.
Honduran former deputy Bartolo Fuentes stated they will explain to the President the situation of migrants, who left their countries to flee violence and seek better living conditions.
Fuentes further said they will evaluate whether they remain in Mexico or continue to the United States, and which route they follow to achieve their purpose, despite the threats made by President Donald Trump to send military forces to prevent them from entering the country.
Lopez Obrador has said that his Government will be able to offer work visas to migrants who wish to stay in Mexico, so some have decided to settle in that country and process the required documentation.
