HAVANA, Cuba.- Salvador Valdes Mesa, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and First Vice-President of the Councils of State and Ministers, starts this Thursday a tour of Asian socialist countries.

The tour will include his participation in the celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and the commemoration of the 45th anniversary of the first visit of the leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro Ruz to Vietnam.

During his tour, the Cuban First Vice-President of the Councils of State and Ministers will also pay a work visit to the People’s Republic of China.

The Cuban delegation is also composed of the first Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marcelino Medina Gonzalez, and the director of Asia and Oceania of the Chancellery, Alberto Blanco Silva.
