Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah and Israeli Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon agreed in the city of Ramallah to halt the demolition of Palestinian homes in areas of the occupied West Bank and other economic aspects.
The spokesman for the Palestinian National Authority stated that during a meeting, both officials agreed to extend the Palestinian authorities´ powers in the C area, which has more than sixty percent of the occupied West Bank under Israeli control.
In these areas, Palestinians are forbidden to build without authorization, a permit that is usually denied.
Other agreements between Palestinians and Israelis include the opening of the passage of the Jordan-West Bank border for 24 hours and the creation of an industrial zone in the city of Tarqumiya.
