Havana, Cuba.- Cuban female music ensemble Camerata Romeu will offer today a Brazilian popular music concert accompanied by that country”s violinist and composer Ricardo Herz.

According to the director of the chamber orchestra, Zenaida Romeu, the recital will take place in its usual venue, the Minor Basilica of the Convent of San Francisco de Asís, located in Old Havana.

According to Romeu, creator of that group, Herz’s music is considered vital, energetic and revolutionary in relation to violinists´ right-hand technique, whose ways of conceiving Afro-Brazilian rhythms reach an authentic flavor inherited from the tearing of the typical guitars of the South American giant.

His compositions and the way of interpreting them constitute an extensive arsenal of lyricism that the artist uses with absolute novelty to make the string orchestra sound very Brazilian, said the founder of Camerata Romeu.

There are no previous precedents for this technical work, Romeu added.

The Brazilian musician Herz graduated from the violin specialty in his country and studied higher education in France and at the University of Berkeley, United States.
