HAVANA, Cuba.- The President of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, recalled this April 15 the bombardment by American planes on the national territory and ratified the courage of the people of the Island before imperial aggressions.

Through his account on Twitter, the President recalled the events and the subsequent attack on Playa Giron. Likewise, he referred to the aggressions that Cuba is a victim now and ratified that our response will be faithful.

On April 15, 1961, enemy aircraft camouflaged with the insignia of the Revolutionary Armed Forces attacked Ciudad Libertad Airport, San Antonio de los Banos Air Base and Santiago de Cuba Airport.

That fact was the prelude to the invasion by Playa Giron, where an armed brigade, trained and transported by the United States was defeated while trying to end the Cuban Revolution.
