granmaBayamo, Cuba.-Granma Sorrels is ahead 3-0, and intends to finish today the fourth game of the series: to win the Cuban baseball series for the first time.

We´ve ever seen such a great comeback like this one in the Cuban baseball history. So, are the Sorrels already champions? Are the Ciego de Avila Tigers eliminated for the national baseball championship? Will Granma Sorrels be representing Cuba in the 2017 Caribbean Series?

Well, it shows that it is. Granma Sorrels will be champion even though they will still have to beat Tigers one more time, a complicated but not impossible task.

Sorrels’ morale is skyrocketing after beating up the Tigers by 10-1 at their own Martires de Barbados Ballpark, jam-packed with baseball fans inside and outside their facilities.

Sorrels´ ways of playing left no doubt that Ciego de Avila Tigers are no longer the champions. Their defense, pitching and timely hitting, plus Carlos Martí´s eloquent direction, are faithful sample of a real champion team.

The team is feeling pretty cool. Although nobody considered us as favorites, we are on the threshold winning the championship. Saying that we are not thinking about the title would be a big enough lie, Martí said, who leads Granma Sorrels for twenty-eighth time.

Clearly, everything is ready for Granma Sorrels´ assumption as the 18th winner for the Cuban baseball throne. What is certain is that the soon-to-be Cuban baseball champion will be representing Cuba from february 1st to 7th, at the Caribbean Series, Culiacan, Mexico.
