Olympic Cuban champion Javier Sotomayor.

Sotomayor condemned those athletes who use banned substances.

HAVANA, Cuba. – Cuban former high jumper Javier Sotomayor said this Friday he will continue feeling as a world record holder until someone jumps 2.46 meters, in reference to the possibility of erasing his mark.

The Olympic champion of Barcelona Olympic Games was hopeful that that measure would not be approved, promoted by the European Athletics Federation.

Sotomayor, who is also Pan-American and Central American champion, condemned those athletes who use banned substances, but he is offended because of the doubts about his trajectory.

The Prince of Asturias of Sports in 1993 criticized the nonsense of eliminating the scores in the world records list, because they would have to erase some national records, because these cannot be superior to world records.
