Voleibol-playa-NorcecaHavana, Cuba.-Cuban male and female beach volleyball teams will compete at the first stop of the North, Central America and Caribbean (NORCECA) Beach Volleyball Circuit, in La Paz, Baja California.

The Cuban male volleybal team is made up of Karell Peña and Daisel Quesada, who will compete for the finals along with 11 other teams, among them Mexicans Juan Virgen and Lombardo Ontiveros.

On the other hand, Leila Martinez and Yanisleidis Sanchez will meet with eight other female teams.

Among the female beach volleyball teams are the Canadian Brandie Wilkerson-Heather Bansley and Taylor Pischke-Kristina May, as well as Americans Betsi Flint-Kelly Larsen and Brittany Hochevar-Emily Day.

The main Cuban beach volleyball team, made up of Nivaldo Diaz and Sergio Gonzalez, set off for Malaysia, where they will debut next week in the fourth round of the World Beach Volleyball Circuit.

The Cuban female team, who were fifth at the Rio-2016 Olympic Games, are placed among the 32 volleyball pairs in the world ranking, thanks to the 1,790 points they have been accumulating.
