Havana, Cuba.- Internet users demanded Tuesday on Twitter the end of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba, on the 23rd anniversary of the signing of the Helms-Burton Law, which codifies the siege.

The tweet summoned from Cuba invites us to use the hashtags #NoMasBloqueo and #CubaesNuestra to reject a measure been in force for almost 60 years, with economic damages valued at more than 930 billion dollars and an incalculable human impact.

Several users expressed their condemnation of the blockade and the Helms-Burton Law on the social media through cartoons, infographics and highlighting of statements by Cuban leaders, among them President Miguel Diaz-Canel and Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez.

For the sovereignty of Cuba, for the well-being of children and young people’, said an Internet user identified as @ecuadorycuba.

Another user assured that Cuban people will always oppose the injustices ‘of the US who want to impose their capitalist system on us, but neither Helms-Burton nor Trump will be able to deal with Cuba’.

For his part, @AlinoKaterine warned that Cuba is not and will never again be colonial possession of the United States.

President William Clinton on March 12, 1996 signed the Helms-Burton Act, an initiative openly advocates regime change in Cuba, with meddling and economic suffocation as methods to achieve it.
