HAVANA, Cuba.- The President of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, participated this Tuesday in the analysis of the march of the sugar harvest, the planting of cane, the repair of the plants, foreign investments and exports in the sector.

Diaz-Canel also received information about preparations for the upcoming harvest, the situation of automotive and rail transport, maintenance of machinery and staff training.

In the meeting, they insist that quality is indispensable in the whole process of repair, to avoid stops by breakages, and achieve a good industrial efficiency.

The head of State said it is necessary to increase the rates of sowing in several provinces that are lagging behind, and advocated for increasing the production of derivatives and organic sugar, items with a high value in the international market.
