HAVANA, Cuba.- Alvaro Lopez Miera toured the Computer Sciences Fair 2018, in Pabexpo, with the President of its Organizing Committee, Grisel Reyes.

Lopez Miera appreciated some projects belonging to different computerization programs of the society that are developed in the country.

The Army Corps General visited the areas of the banking system, the Company of Telecommunications of Cuba (ETECSA), GEDEME, the University of Computer Science, and the Telecommunications Services to Defense Company.

In Favor of Technological Development

The University of Computer Science was born from the thought of the historical leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro. It was a project designed, created, followed and dreamed by him, Alina Ruiz, director of Computerization of the University of Havana said.

During the Computer Science Convention 2018, he highlighted the Commander-in Chief´s idea that the country’s fundamental wealth is talent and education, and on that basis computer science has an important pillar.

At the meeting it was inaugurated the tenth International Congress of Geomatics, with a lecture by Vice-Minister of Science, Technology and Environment Fernando Gonzalez.

The 2018 ICT Convention and Fair promotes scientific technical discussion and project exposure, which will contribute to the development of technologies and communications.
