BAYAMO, Granma. – University students in Granma province acted out since this Thursday, from the intricate spot named El Jíbaro in the Sierra Maestra, the East to West invasion assigned by Fidel to “Ciro Redondo” Column 8 led by Ernesto Che Guevara.

The new “invaders”, inspired by the example and legacy of the Cuban heroes and martyrs walked through the same places Che Guevara and his men marched

The invasion from East to West by Che´s column ended in the former province of Las Villas, in whose mountains Che had military commands and organized rebel troops operating in that area.

University students from Las Tunas, Camaguey, Ciego de Avila, and Sancti Spiritus will also repeat the route followed by Che and his men 59 years ago, after leaving from El Jíbaro, in the Sierra Maestra.
