GRANMA, Cuba.- In Demajagua historical site, where 150 years ago the struggles for Cuba´s independence began, details are finalized for the central ceremony on occasion of the date, which will take place this Wednesday.

The place chosen by Cespedes, the Father of the Homeland, to free his slaves and begin the emancipatory feat, looks beautiful, renovated and full of history.

Today the event is rehearsed, technical and organizational details are outlined, and tonight it will be a gala dedicated to the 150 years of the beginning of the wars for the independence of Cuba.

This morning it was cancelled a special collection of allegorical stamps, with images of personalities and emblematic places of the Cuban history. La Demajagua marathon also took place, as every year to remember the date of October 10.
