GUANTANAMO, Cuba. – More than a century after the illegal establishment of the US Naval Base in Guantanamo, historians, researchers and scholars met in this eastern province of Cuba to condemn once again the usurpation of that piece of Cuban soil.

The event took place at Guantanamo Medical School under the title One Hundred and Twenty Years of North American Presence at Guantanamo Bay, and it was another emphatic denunciation of the permanence of that military enclave against the will of the Cuban people and Government.

Panelists highlighted the social, economic and environmental damage of the naval base turned into in a world-rejected torture center.

The books Guantanamo and American Imperialism. Humanities respond , by Tom Guarice, and a multimedia that provides more knowledge about American interference in Cuba were launched.
