HAVANA, Cuba.- The beginning of the upcoming school year will have a very special gift, the reopening of the school founded by Rafael Maria de Mendive, and where Jose Marti studied.

Minister of Education Ena Elsa Velazquez Cobiella explained that this center, restored by the Office of the Historian of Havana, will contribute to the pedagogical and patriotic training of the new generations and teachers, who can approach in a special way to the life and work of the national hero of Cuba.

Velazquez Cobiella emphasized this elementary school will solve a problem of space in the territory, as it will assume an enrolment of 400 students from La Habana Vieja municipality, where the schools´ conditions are not the best.

The national act for the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year will be held next September 3 in this new educational center.
