ISLE OF YOUTH, Cuba. – Workers linked to the production of bee honey on the Isle of Youth overfulfilled the plan for the first semester and achieved more than 50 tons.

Tania Hurtado Echemendia, president of the Basic Unit of Cooperative Production, highlighted the response of beekeepers, the beehives´ management, the renovation of honeycombs and the changes of queen bees, decisive to achieve high productivity.

Bee honey obtained in the Isle of Youth is sent to the processing plant in Sancti Spiritus province and no quality problems are reported.

Beekeepers in the Isle of Youth are determined to achieve good results in the third castrate they make on the south coast, where there are suitable species to obtain bee honey and closing the year with a hundred tons.
