SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba. – The Cuban Minister of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA), Elba Rosa Perez Montoya, presided over the central event for the day of Cuban Science, held in Santiago de Cuba for the relevant results of this province in 2017.

In uttering the central words, Perez Montoya congratulated the Cuban scientific community and highlighted their great scientific and technical advances achieved thanks to the impetuous development of human resources and entities.

The Minister of CITMA gave recognitions for their work during the year to the provinces of Villa Clara, Cienfuegos and Guantanamo, and the condition of Most Outstanding to Santiago de Cuba.

The decision responds to outstanding achievements in sectors of social impact by scientific-technical institutions, technological innovation and the development of its human capital in applied sciences.

Institutions as the National Center for Seismic Research, the Meteorological group in the face of natural hazards, the Center for Risk Management, and the Institute of Hydraulic Resources excel in this endeavor.
