Eighth International Congress on Social Work

HAVANA, Cuba. – The eighth International Congress on Social Work, dedicated to the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro, began this Monday with the delivery of updating courses by national and foreign specialists.

The participants from more than ten countries will broaden their knowledge on social policies in changing scenarios and public health in Cuba, topics that prestigious academics of the island will present.

At the headquarters of the National Council of Health Scientific Societies, in the Cuban capital, Brazilian Fabiana Estevez will talk about social service in their country.

Milagros de la Caridad Garcia, a member of the organizing committee, said the International Congress on Social Work will also honor Celia Sanchez, a faithful example of the profession promoting social justice.
