Havana, Cuba. – President Raul Castro led the official reception ceremony to his Ecuadorian counterpart Rafael Correa in the Revolution Palace. Correa will also receive the Jose Marti Order, the highest decoration bestowed by Cuba.

This high award recognizes the merits of the leader of the Citizen revolution and his proven friendship with Cuba, Fidel and its revolutionary process.

Rafael Correa also honored the Cuban national hero Jose Marti in the Memorial at the Revolution Square dedicated to the life and work of the leader of Cuban independence.

This morning the Ecuadorian President was invested with the honorary doctorate in Economics at the University of Havana, and offered a keynote speech in which he reviewed the results of his government and assured that development is a political issue.
